Moving on, we have one of Essence’s newest releases, a limited edition called “Mickey and Friends”. Today I’m showing you the second polish from this collection, “Aw, Phooey”, combined with an oldie by the same brand, “Shopping Trip in Soho – Party All Night Long”.
Essence’s “Aw, Phooey” is a reddish brown, shimmery base with duochrome shift. Hard to capture it on camera in daylight, but the shift goes from green to goldish brown, and looks metallic. I think it’s a unique shade, but not one I’ll necessarily wear often, as it’s not really my cup of tea. The name is cute, although it took me some time to figure out the image on the bottle was Donald Duck (I thought it was a weird snake sitting up with its tongue sticking out, lol).
“Party All Night Long” is the topper side of the Essence Colour 3 collection, the double polishes meant to be layered on top of each other. It’s a pink base with flakies in pink and blueish purple. Definitely a polish that I keep forgetting about, but is one I’d like to wear more often.
This combination was one I did not expect to look this good! The topcoat totally transforms the polish to an almost Barbie-approved colour, that looks jelly and glossy. The duochrome base gives the topper an unexpected depth, and I appreciate that! I really do like this combo!
