It’s the last day of the month, and that means I’m rounding up all manicures I’ve worn this month!
First off this oldie from Catrice that I wore on July 2nd. This is 600 “After Eight”, an almost black green colour with green shimmers, making it look somewhat metallic. The name is probably derived from the minty chocolates with the same name, which I have a love/hate relationship with. Luckily for me, this polish is definitely completely my taste!
On the 5th I decided to change it up, and wear something less gloomy. Queue TonyMoly’s GS09, a sheer milky white base with confetti glitters. Shown are three coats over a basecoat, with no topcoat. It still shows my nails due to the sheerness, but it does cover more than I would’ve expected! It’s so much fun!
Five days later, I continued the light trend with a polish that I recently bought on Vinted; Different Dimension’s “Voila”. It’s from an 2018 collection, and is a stunning blue (with slightly purple undertone) crelly with a shimmer that goes from reddish pink to golden green in specific lighting. Shown are three coats, and it’s still slightly sheer. I love this polish so much! Especially with a high shine topcoat, the shimmers steal the show in this polish, and make the look almost ethereal. This is a polish that looks better on the nails than in the bottle.
On the 15th, I thought it to be time for a bit of a palate cleanser, a colour I don’t wear often: yellow! As I just received Chanel’s Giallo Napoli, I chose to wear that one. And boy, do I love this one! It’s creamy, applies well in three coats, and makes me feel summery whenever I look at my nails.
And I kept within the Chanel-realm by wearing yet another one of their polishes on July 18th. This time Cosmic, which weirdly enought doesn’t look like the photos I saw of it online. My bottle has holographic glitter in it, whereas it used to only have silver glitter in it. The bottle seems legit, and the smell does too, so perhaps it got reformulated? Or the seller tossed in hologlitter? Regardless, this one is totally up my alley.
My last mani (I didn’t wear many this month, it appears) was a duo of Bourjois’ Turquoise Block with OPI’s Gaining Mole-Mentum on top, creating a summery vibe on my nails.
Bought
Something that I think is interesting to add to these posts, is to mention nail polishes bought, sold, emptied, or given away. It tracks my collection and taste alike, and makes it easier for me to update my collection list on here.
Firstly, the polishes I bought on Vinted. A few luxury polishes, of which one was on my wishlist for quite some time. Firstly, Giallo Napoli by Chanel, a very bright, warm-toned yellow polish. It’s a beauty, isn’t it? Next to it is Cosmic by the same brand, a black polish with interstellar glitter in it. Lastly a brand I’ve never used before; Dolce & Gabbana. I believe their nail polishes have been discontinued, but Gaia immediately caught my eye. It’s a metallic green with golden shimmer in it.
Kruidvat did have a really good deal, of having their discontinued polishes with 60% off. I chose to get a few polishes, which are:
- Essence Holo Bomb 04 Holo It’s Me
- Essence Oh Happy Daisy! 01 You Made My Daisy!
- Essence Oh Happy Daisy! 02 Drive Me Daisy!
- Catrice Brave Metallics 01 Starry Nights
- Catrice Dream In Jelly Sparkles 030 Sweet Jellousy
- Catrice 124 Believe in Jade
- Catrice 152 Lemon Butter
I also picked up a bottle of black stamping polish by Essence, 01 Perfect Match near the end of the month, as well as two other polishes at Kruidvat: Catrice Poolside of Life C02 Deep Dive (which is a stunner!), and Catrice 040 Jelly Crush (Dream in Jelly Sparkle). Also my very first Orly (Kitch You Later), which was part of a duo with the bonder base coat that I bought on Vinted.
