Did you ever want to buy a nail polish yeeeaaaars ago, wasn’t able to find it back then, only for it to be discontinued and eventually stuck in your mind forever as a polish you’d wanted to have and gotten a permanent place on your ever growing wishlist? Yep, me as well. In fact, one of today’s nail polishes is one: Sally Hansen’s “All Yarned Up”. I’m combining it with a more contemporary polish by Catrice, “Sweet Cotton Candy”.
Yep, I’m having a bit of a Barbiecore moment on my blog! This polish, “Sweet Cotton Candy”, from Catrice’s My Little Pony LE is a stunner worth being called a proper Barbie-pink. Even though Catrice described it as a pastel, I would most definitely say it’s a neon pastel. Even though I skipped the MLP-phase in my youth (I vaguely remember having one pony), I think the bottle is amazingly cute, and fits the polish rather well. Applied here are two coats, as usual.
And now for the pièce de résistance: Sally Hansen’s “All Yarned Up” from their Fuzzy Coat’s collection. A playful topcoat with different colours bar glitters, all matte. I love it! It definitely ties in with the tweed nails trend back in those days, a trend that seems to resurface these days (yay!). Without a topcoat, it gives the nail a bit of a texture as well, one that reminds me of fabric.
I like this combination! It’s bright, colourful, and reminds me somewhat of sprinkles on ice cream. I do wonder, however, whether there are colours that make the topcoat pop even more than this one. Perhaps a soft peach, or a beige like Barry M’s “Lychee”. To be continued…
