One of the biggest perks of the period coming up to Halloween, is rewatching my favourite spooky movies! The movie I always watch around this time, is Practical Magic. It’s just so cozy! Today I’m bringing am hommage to it by creating a nail art with it… including some magic of its own!

For the nails, I went with two main colours: Essie Wicked (appropriate for this mani!), and Catrice’s Bring Me Peach from their Candy Shock collection. On my index finger and pinkie, I chose for a candle pattern with Essence’s Drive Me Daisy! (Oh Happy Daisy Collection), and wicks made of Esssence’s Perfect Match (stampy polish). For the two other fingers, I went with the silhouettes of the family members, painted in Essie’s Wicked. Of course, both patterns were inspired by the iconic movie poster. With some glow in the dark glitter (unbranded) and Kiko’s 200, I made some glittery flames.

On my thumb, I made an ode to the midnight margarita. With a very diluted Essence Wild White Ways, I created the glass, with a mixture of L’Oréal’s Wasabi Hint, Kiko’s 200, and Yes Love’s Glow in the Dark with Coke g2-5 as the beverage inside. Above it, I created a magical swirl with the aforementioned Yes Love polish.

But the real magic happens when the light turns off! Obviously, it’s almost impossible to photograph this, so please excuse the blurry images. But isn’t this cute?! I couldn’t stop looking at my nails when I wore this look. I was unsure how well the glow in the dark would show up, but it’s pretty impressive! It’s just such a shame the flames don’t glow red, haha!
