As summer is here (at least in name…), I cannot help but think about the holidays past. One of my most fond memories is the tiem I went to Florence, Italy, partially for my studies as well as vacation. Not only did I get to see so much art and culture, eat really good Italian food, get the chance to practice my studies of Italian language in the country of its origin, but I also took it as an opportunity to try out new brands. One of them was Kiko, and today I’m showing you colour 337 as a part of my series Lacquered Memories.
Back in those days, Kiko wasn’t a brand that was available in The Netherlands. To get your hands on their products, you had to travel abroad or order online, although that wasn’t foolproof either. So you can imagine my happiness when Florence was my destination! After endlessly walking around the city, visiting museum after church after museum, I found myself in the Via del Calzaiuoli, one of the shopping streets of the city.
I decided to pick four nail polishes, and two lipsticks. Number 337, indicated on their website under the name “viola pervinca” (named after the plant periwinkle), is a stunning, bright periwinkle colour, that unfortunately doesn’t show up that well in images. It’s kind of a blurple, in a creamy, buttery way.
I have worn this polish so many times, starting with the days after I bought it. It’s still on of my favourites even years later. Unfortunately, I haven’t managed to find a dupe for it yet, so let’s hope it’ll last me at least the same amount of years to come!
